North Shore United debuted in the WSL Men's Majors Division on Sunday with a scoreless home draw against Brewers FC.

NSU won the 2013-14 First Division crown in June in the club's inaugural season with a men's adult program. They moved the top team up to Majors for 2014-15, and then added a new First Division squad to defend that title. That team lost 2-1 Sunday to Brewers FC.

Marcel Feenstra, a Milwaukee Wave player who played for the team a year ago, got the shutout in Sunday's draw. He had to fend off a breakaway challenge in the game's final moments, forcing a shot to be rolled just wide of the frame. NSU failed to score on two good second half chances; one shot was saved and another was headed over the bar.

Feenstra will be joined on the NSU Majors roster this year by a number of other players from the Wave, including Marcio Leite, Jonathan Greenfield and Pablo DaSilva. Cedarburg High School Athletic Hall of Fame player Tyler Hawley and NSU Director of Coaching Joe Hammes also are on the Majors roster.

"I'm happy with how the day went," said Majors coach David Moxom, who expanded the program to the second team this year. "We've had seven or eight spirited practices with 20-25 guys at each training."

NSU visits Croatians next Sunday. The next home matches are scheduled for Sept. 28 against United Serbian SC. First Division is at 12:30 p.m. and the Majors at 3 p.m.
