The NSU U14 Girls followed up their state championship season with a victory over Team Chicago Academy 2-1 to win the Premier II West Division the Midwest Regional League, and advance to Premier I next spring.

In an evenly played first half ,Team Chicago took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd minute of first-half stoppage time. The NSU U14 girls took control in the second half as they tied it on an outstanding cross from Josie Keldermann that was finished by Selena Esten to tie the game at 1-all.

The game went back and forth for the rest of the half and Esten came up with a huge save with about 10 minutes left in the game to stop a break away goal by Team Chicago. NSU would seal the game off a corner with 45 seconds left to play as Courtney Hoppe flicked a header past the keeper off an assist from Liv Banks.

The defense was again outstanding, anchored by Anna Heyden and Abby Depue with key plays from Katie McLaughlin and Josie Keldermann. Great job girls, and good luck next spring. Go NSU!
