Seventeen North Shore United players represented the Wisconsin Fire during the Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup International Showcase over Valentine’s Day weekend.
The players were selected to play in the all-star Wisconsin Fire teams after impressing during a series of tryout events that took place in Milwaukee last fall. Out of 400 hopefuls from 10 local youth soccer clubs, the players got the nod to take part in the international showcase event in Las Vegas.
Launched in August 2013 in partnership with the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA), the Wisconsin Fire program now has over 200 elite players from North Shore United, Appleton SC, Bavarians SC, Brookfield SC, Croatians Eagles SC, Madison 56ers, Milwaukee Kickers SC, , Racine United SC, SC Waukesha and Wisconsin Rush. Wisconsin Fire is part of the Chicago Fire's emerging talent program.
