Mick Collins

Academy Director - Mick Collins

Mick originates from Burnley, England and moved to Milwaukee in 2003 to attend Cardinal Stritch University on a soccer scholarship. He was a four year first team all-conference selection, three year team captain, first team all-region selection, NAIA All American honorable mention and two times Academic All American.
 
Mick's first coaching experience began with short stints with the "Football in the Community" programs of English football teams Burnley FC and Blackburn Rovers FC. He was involved in similar outreach programs for Cardinal Stritch University providing coaching clinics to Greater Milwaukee and Southeastern Wisconsin communities. Mick also had the opportunity to coach soccer in Nepal during a medical mission trip, providing soccer camps to under privileged youngsters and has been an active coach for TopSoccer over the past few years.
 
Mick is the Academy Director for North Shore United, and is responsible for the growth, development and daily operation of our Academy which is dedicated to the development of 6-10 year olds in the club who have aspirations of playing select soccer at the highest level.  Mick assumed this role in 2012, but has been involved in the Academy program since 2007. Mick worked with the micro-soccer program at Mequon Soccer Club with Coach Abdul Oke prior to moving to the North Shore United Academy in 2007.  He has worked with boys and girls teams of all ages since and has played a part in NSU’s rapid growth and development over the past few years. 

In 2013 his U12 girls became the youngest team to ever qualify for a state tournament.  In 2014 his NSU U13 girls team became the youngest team in NSU history to win a WI State Championship.  They have since gone on to win the state title four more times to become one of the most successful teams the club has ever had.

Mick resides in Cedarburg with his wife Sarah and two children Liv and Charlie.  In addition to coaching, he is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in pediatric sports medicine and post-concussion rehabilitation for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
