Originally from Wauwatosa, Mike played for Marquette University High school and continued his two-time All American playing career at the University of Virginia where he was a two-time National Champion. He continued his career as pro for DC United among other pro endeavors and a highlight was selection for the US MNT for the 1992 Summer Olympics where he started all three group games in Barcelona. He wrapped up his playing career after moving home to Milwaukee and playing for the Rampage.

After his playing career, Huwiler coached at MATC and returned to his alma mater, MUHS as the JV head coach. You can find Mike and his wife, Molly, on the sidelines enjoying their sons, Katahdin and Felix and their daughter, Ida, playing for NSU. He has been involved as a coach in youth soccer for several seasons and North Shore United commends Mike’s knowledge, commitment and love of the game that shows on our sidelines every week.
