North Shore United won their group play brackets at the U13 boys and U18 boys levels at the Wisconsin State Championships in Appleton over Memorial Day Weekend.

Both teams put on impressive showings in advancing to next weekend's semifinals. The U13 boys, ranked No. 1 in the state, beat all three opponents by a combined score of 13-1. They'll face FC Milwaukee Blue in the semifinals at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The U18 boys also were unbeaten and untied with a total margin of 12-2. Their semifinal opponent is Elm Grove Premier.

Also in the State Championships, the U15 boys were 2-1-0 and finished second in their bracket. They lost to 3-0 to a Bavarians squad which was this spring's Midwest Regional League Premier Division champion. And the U14 boys had one draw and two defeats.

Last fall, the U16 girls finished as state runner-up, giving North Shore United three teams in the 2010-11 season who reached at least the state semifinals. Congratulations to all the coaches and players on a fantastic season so far.
