The North Shore United U14 boys and U16 boys each won their pool at the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association state championships in Appleton over the weekend, advancing to Saturday's state semifinals.
Greg Shultis' U16 boys won all three matches at the USA Youth Soccer complex, defeating FC Milwaukee 3-1, Elm Grove 2-1 and Fondy Phoenix 4-1. North Shore takes on SC Waukesha Blue at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Appleton. The other semifinal features Everton SC against Croatians.
The U14 boys of Sinisa Angelovski posted a clean sheet throughout the weekend, defeating Croatian Eagles 1-0, Lake Country United 1-0 and Madison 56ers 2-0. NSU's opponent in the semifinals is KASL United FC Red; the other semifinal features Bavarians vs. FC Milwaukee.
North Shore's U17 girls already won their state championship in the fall, and will play in the Region II championships June 23-27 in Saginaw, MI. North Shore's other two semifinals are vying for that same honor.
