North Shore United's U15 boys, the defending Wisconsin champions, easily qualified for the state semifinals during the pool play stage of the Wisconsin State Championships over Memorial Day weekend in Appleton.

The U15s routed Madison FC Gold (4-0), Madison 56ers (4-0) and Brookfield (5-1) to earn a semifinal date with SC Waukesha next weekend.

The U17 boys had a strong tournament, with big wins over Milwaukee Kickers (6-0) and Madison 56ers (3-0), but fell 3-2 to Bay Alliance and came up just short of advancing to the semifinal.

Also just missing out on the semis were the U14 boys, who tied defending state champions United FC and beat Milwaukee Sport Club (6-1) and Milwaukee Kickers Academy (5-0).

The U14 girls were 1-2 and the U18 boys and U12 girls — playing up in the U13 bracket — were 0-3.

Overall the North Shore teams won 8 games and lost 10 against the state's very best competition.
