North Shore United teams recorded dominating victories on the first day of the US Youth Soccer Region II Championships in Des Moines, IA on Saturday.

The U15 boys beat Minnesota Thunder Academy White 6-1. Two goals each were scored by Jake Demerath, Austin Barr and Luka Prpa. The team plays Sunday against Chicago Magic Pre-academy, which won its game Saturday 5-1.

Meanwhile, the U18 girls had no problems with Rushmore, SD, in a 7-1 win. Angie Mann was the star with four goals, while Maddie Tetzke had a pair and Anna Smally one goal. The 18s meet Javanon KY on Sunday; Javanon and Michigan Football Club drew 3-all on Saturday.
