NSU Sends 4 Teams To State Semifinals

North Shore United advanced four of seven entered teams to the semifinals of the Wisconsin State Cup with a strong pool play showing over Memorial Day weekend in Appleton.

 

The U13 boys will face SC Waukesha at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, after winning their bracket with a perfect 3-0 mark. NSU beat MFC Gold 3-0, Pewaukee/Sussex 3-2 and Rush Wisconsin 2-1. Bavarians and Madison 56ers are in the other semifinal.

 

The U13 girls romped over Rush Wisconsin 6-0 to win their pool with a 2-0-1 mark. They will face the Madison 56ers in one semifinal at 11 a.m. Saturday, while SC Waukesha and SFCW play the other semifinal.

 

The U16 boys cruised past FC Magic 6-1 and won their bracket without a draw or loss and a 13-1 goal differential. NSU takes on Croatians in the semifinal at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

 

Finally, the U18 boys toppled FC Green Bay/DePere 4-2 to advance, drawing FC Wisconsin in one semifinal. Bavarians and Madison are in the other semifinal.

 

Championship games are Sunday, June 1. All the matches are in Appleton.

 

Overall, NSU's seven entrants came away with 14 wins, 3 draws and only 4 defeats in 21 pool play games. The U14 boys, U15 boys and U17 boys also participated.
