May 30, 2014 — North Shore United and Bavarian Soccer Club are launching a joint fall-season program for boys of high school age in 2014, with the aim of providing a first-class environment for player development.

Called Wisconsin Alliance, the team's season will run from late July through October and include players affiliated with both clubs.

“This has been brought up to us by players over the last couple of years,” said Joe Hammes, director of coaching at North Shore United. “Players are expressing interest in an alternative to the scholastic environment.”

Bob Spielmann, director of coaching for Bavarian SC, said this fall-season program will place an extraordinary emphasis on high-level technical and tactical training, with match play supporting and supplementing that training.

Distinguishing features of the program include:

  • Four weekly training sessions, exclusively on the new turf fields at Cedarburg-based NSU and Glendale-based Bavarian SC.

  • Emphasis on technical and tactical development for a possession-based style of play.

  • Coaching from U.S. Soccer national “A” or “B” licensed coaches.

  • Friendlies against clubs with USSDA affiliation, including Scott Gallagher Missouri, Scott Gallagher Illinois, Chicago Magic PSG and Shattuck St. Mary's, and other top regional clubs.

  • One college showcase tournament, the College Search Kickoff in Muscatine, IA

Players will be culled from NSU and Bavarian teams that are selected for their respective age group spring seasons in late June. The number of teams formed, and the exact coaches, will be determined based on interest.

Fees for the fall season are $500 plus coaching travel expenses, and are separate from spring season fees. For more information about the program, contact Sinisa Angelovski at angelovski011@hotmail.com or Bob Spielmann at bspiel16@gmail.com.
