The Schoen family would like to invite their NSU family and friends to their inaugural Grant Schoen’s Kickstart The Heart fundraising event to raise awareness for sudden cardiac arrest.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 18. This will be a family, fun event filled with activities starting at 8:30 am with an hour long Boot Camp for adults or a Parisi (speed and agility) camp for kids. Then beginning at 10 am, the kickball tournament begins for ages U8, U10, U12, U14 and Adults.

Throughout the day, their will be concessions available, clowns, face painting and various tents to promote heart health. The event will be held at the GLL fields at John Long Middle School.

For more information or to register, please visit www.KickstartTheHeart.org. The cost is $30 for Boot Camp or Parisi or $20/person for the kickball tournament. All participants are guaranteed a t-shirt if registered by Oct. 4.  All proceeds from this event go towards Heart Safe Wisconsin initiative in our local communities.

Background: The Schoen family started the non-profit organization called Heart Safe Wisconsin after their son Grant Schoen died last year from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). They hope to promote SCA awareness throughout Wisconsin through this initiative.
