Shannon Smyth

Shannon Smyth North Shore United
Shannon Smyth is a Mequon native and played for the Milwaukee Kickers Nationals and FC Milwaukee in her own youth career. She was a State Olympic Development Program Captain and Regional Team member in Wisconsin before heading out of state for college. A four year letter winner at the University of Louisville, she earned Big East Conference honors, helped her team notch their first appearance in the Big East Semi-Finals and the program's first NCAA Championship berth while earning her degree in Sport Administration and Communications.
 
Smyth continued her career in Norway's professional women's league, the Toppserien, for 5 years. While playing, Smyth launched and led the Norwegian club's first ever girls academy as Director of Coaching. In addition, she coached the Norwegian Southern Regional Team for girls ages 1999-2002. In her international career, Smyth tallied 36 caps for the Republic of Ireland Women's National Team and competed in the World University Games, World Cup Qualifiers and European Championship Qualifiers and in 2013 was nominated for Republic of Ireland Women's Player of the Year.
 
In 2018 Shannon was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for Divine Savior Holy Angels.  She is a founding board member of the Wisconsin Women’s Soccer Advisory Council (WWSAC). In 2017, Smyth earned her USSF "A" Coaching License and works for US Soccer in Coaching Education, leading USSF Grassroots, D and C courses. She is also a SheChampions Mentor with Vision Pursue training.
 
Shannon and her husband, Andrew, live in Mequon and have two daughters.
